SOP competitions for preparatory school students continue

Doha, January 31, 2020. The football competitions for boys’ preparatory schools at the 13th edition of the Schools Olympic Program (SOP) were resumed on Thursday on the playgrounds of the Aspire Academy of Sport Excellence.

In the first group, Khalid bin Ahmed School defeated Usama bin Zaid School 2-1 to lead the group while Al Emam Al Shafei School edged past Abu obaida School and Rawdat Rashid School to take the first place in the second group.

Ibn Khaldoun School trounced Dukhan School to lead the fourth group while the Religious Institute shared the leadership of fifth group with Al Yarmook School and Mohammed bin Jassim School.

In the sixth group, first place went to Ali bin Abi Talib School after its victory over Simaisma Preparatory School. In the seventh group, Abdullah bin Ali Al-Misnad beat Omar Bin Khattab School and Abdul Rahman Bin Jassim Preparatory School to lead the group. In its turn, Omar Bin Khattab School took second place following its 1-0 victory over Abdullah Bin Ali Al Misnad School .

The SOP Committee aims to promote a culture of sport at Qatar’s schools and to engage the entire community in active and healthy lifestyles while retaining local values and traditions.
